Under the Ulaanbaatar Green Affordable Housing Project, the EDGE certification audit for the first phase of 4 blocks, comprising 110 green housing units built in Area B15 of the Bayankhoshuu Sub-center, was successfully conducted on September 3, 2026.
Huu Thang Ho, an EDGE auditor from the international certification body SGS, led the audit examination, evaluating metrics related to building energy efficiency, water consumption, and embodied energy/carbon reduction in building materials against relevant standards and requirements.
The EDGE system, developed by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), assesses a building's environmental impact based on three primary criteria:
Energy savings
Water efficiency and conservation
Embodied energy/carbon reduction in materials
The successful execution of this audit marks a key milestone toward obtaining final EDGE certification for the green housing units in Area B15.
