Under the project, a total of 338 green housing units are being constructed in the Sharhad sub-center. The first phase of 110 units was successfully handed over to the State Commission on July 3, 2026. Following the handover, the buildings successfully passed the post-construction audit required for the EDGE certificate—an internationally recognized green building standard accepted in over 150 countries worldwide—and officially commissioned with a grand opening ceremony on August 20, 2026.
Going forward, efforts under Project Component 2 will be intensified in partnership with the private sector to initiate a 4,200-unit green housing project. Compared to standard buildings, the developments under this project achieve average savings of 25% in energy, 20–25% in water, and 20–25% in embodied energy in building materials, providing residents with lower utility expenses and higher-value real estate.
As a result of the project, 8,000 chimneys and 5,000 pit latrines will be eliminated, 15,000 person-months of employment will be created during construction and operation, and annual savings will reach 2.4 million kWh of energy and 5.5 million liters of water. Furthermore, through comprehensive urban planning, the project will add 120,000 m² of green spaces, 16.4 km of bike lanes, 39.2 km of sidewalks, and 3,800 parking spots—significantly reducing air, soil, and environmental pollution while improving the living environment for citizens.
